Member Webinar | Cement Decarbonisation

with Optimal Use of Excess Heat | 29 April

The Institute is delighted to invite you to join us for our exclusive Monthly Member Webinar series. Each month, members and friends of the Institute gain insights from fellow members and esteemed guests on a broad spectrum of topics in carbon capture and storage.

This month's Member Webinar,

Cement Decarbonisation with Optimal Use of Excess Heat, will dive into how residual heat from clinker coolers and preheaters in cement plants can be utilised for energy recovery and redirected for carbon capture. While this residual heat often covers only about 40% of the total demand for a traditional heat-driven capture process - or can be harnessed via Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems at relatively modest (10-24%) efficiency - Capsol Technologies has introduced a fully electric post-combustion (end of pipe) solution that redefines the approach.

By combining heat pumps, intercooling, and reheat into a patent-pending innovation, Capsol’s system achieves higher efficiencies and can be tailored to varying levels of excess heat availability. Don't miss this opportunity to stay at the forefront of CCS developments and connect with industry experts!

New Paper | Establishing Leadership in

Bringing Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) to Scale

Leveraging the United Arab Emirates as a compelling case study, this latest paper, titled “Establishing Leadership in Bringing Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) to Scale", assesses how key barriers to CCUS deployment, such as societal acceptance, financing and application scope, can be addressed.

Initially published in the journal for

Energy Research & Social Science, and co-authored by Institute experts, the paper also looks at the opportunities – as well as the responsibilities – of countries with both significant emissions and the financial capacity to scale-up CCUS, particularly as it relates to driving the technology forward.
