This webinar will explore how Carbon GeoCapture (CGC) is working with Black Hills Energy (BHE) to store carbon dioxide produced from a coal-fired power plant into unmineable coal seams locally and cost-effectively.

Following the success of last year’s event, the Institute will once again host a Technology Speed Networking session at our 2025 Asia Pacific Forum & Member Meeting and invites CCS technology providers to complete an Expression of Interest form to participate as an exhibitor at this year’s event. EOIs are due by 14 March 2025.
General attendee registration will begin in mid-March for the 2025 APAC Forum on CCS, 6-8 May, in Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.”

New Insight | CCUS Ambitions in the Africa Region: Reflections from the Inaugural Africa CCUS Forum | |
The Institute, in partnership with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, IEAGHG, and the Gulf Coast Carbon Centre, co-hosted the 2025 Africa CCUS Forum in Ben Guerir, Morocco.
This groundbreaking event aimed to bolster CCUS engagement across Africa. The forum, a first-of-its-kind, brought together stakeholders from across the continent to engage in vital discussions on carbon management and CCUS.

On 26 February, the Institute hosted a webinar which highlighted insights from our newly released thought leadership report, Advancements in CCS Technologies and Costs, and featured expert perspectives from the report’s three authors.
The session covered key findings on carbon-dioxide capture, compression, pipeline costs, liquefaction, and shipping.

Available now in Arabic | 2024 Global Status Report | |
The 2024 Global Status of CCS report, along with its accompanying factsheet, is now available in Arabic. The Global Status Report showcases significant year-on-year momentum for CCS projects globally, as governments and industry around the world collaborate to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach net-zero as quickly as possible.
Findings in the report show strong growth in CCS projects across all stages of development.
